Things You Need to Know Before Sailing Into Montenegro

Things You Need to Know Before Sailing Into Montenegro

This short guide will help you understand procedures and certain legal restrictions before yacht’s arrival in Montenegro. For each follow-up question, we are at your disposal.

Berth Reservation

In order for everything to go smoothly and to make the arrival of the yacht in Montenegro as simple as possible, the captain of the yacht should contact the yacht agent in advance, so that Allegra Port Agent can reserve a berth on behalf of the yacht in the marina they want to visit. Captains can contact Allegra Port Agent by e-mail, phone, WhatsApp and LinkedIn. They can also fill up berth reservation form here (http://allegraportagent.com/yacht-agent-montenegro/berth-reservation.php).

Vignette in Montenegro

It is necessary, before yacht’s arrival, to send us required documents for obtaining a vignette - proof that foreign yacht meets the conditions for navigation in the territorial waters of Montenegro. Vignette can be issued for the duration of 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. Please inform us of your desired length of stay in Montenegro.

Police, Customs and Port Authorities

Upon arrival, the yacht is moored at the border control, while formalities with Police and Customs are done. This is where we, as your yacht agent, take over and do what we do best, so everything is done as quickly as possible, keeping you updated and providing you with all additional information and requirements. After yacht is cleared, it can continue its voyage to previously reserved berth.

In some cases, it is possible that yacht goes immediately to its berth in the marina, but this requires additional permits from Port Authorities and depends upon factors such are yacht’s length and so on…

At border control, Police and Customs check whether all passengers and crew members meet the conditions for entry into or exit from Montenegro, like possession of valid travel documents, required visas or residence permits… Our yacht agents will inform you about all these requirements prior your arrival in Montenegro.

The List of all Passengers contains name and surname, date of birth, citizenship, type and number if travel documents, and if required, number of visa. Any change with passengers or crew members must be reported and updated into the system, so it can be verified with Port Authorities, in their offices.

As part of our commitment to clients, and thanks to expert local knowledge and experience, Allegra Port Agent can assure high quality service like world renowned yacht agents. As your agents we cooperate with Port Authorities, Police and Customs on your behalf, making sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible.
